Woman arrested for pushing another woman in front of the subway train in Romania
A 36-year old Romanian woman suspected of killing another woman at the Bucharest subway has been detained by prosecutors of the Bucharest Public Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday morning (December 13), after being heard for several hours at the headquarters of the Bucharest Police.
She is suspected of having pushed a 25-year old woman in front of the train at the Dristor subway station on Tuesday evening. The young woman died. The incident was caught by surveillance cameras.
The people who witnessed the incident initially thought that it was a suicide. The Bucharest Police announced after a few hours that the young woman was actually pushed by another woman and released photos of the suspect.
The possible murderer was caught by police overnight. She was identified based on the footage taken by subway video cameras.
The woman had apparently tried a similar gesture at the Costin Georgian metro station shortly before, when she pushed another young woman, but nothing happened to the girl.
The woman admitted that she was the person in the images captured by cameras at the Bucharest subway, but didn’t explain why she had done those gestures, according to police representatives.
