Woman possibly bitten by lion in southern Romania
A woman from Dambovita county arrived last Friday at the County Hospital in Targoviste with serious bite wounds on her body. She initially claimed she was bitten by a lion, but then changed her statement and said that some dogs had bitten her.
There is the suspicion that the woman was actually bitten by a lion illegally hold in a backyard of a house located in Dragodana village. The woman was taking care of the household’s animals, as the farm's owners live in Bucharest, reports local Agerpres.
Sandru Tolea, the director of the Veterinary and Food Safety Directorate in Dambovita, said he had no information about someone in the county having lions.
Dragodana residents claim that they have been hearing animal noises coming from that farm, which is located on a large plot of land. However, they didn’t know if the noises came from wild animals, but according to rumors in the village the farm hosted lions and even camels. However, the household’s owner claims that he has no wild animals.
