Women lead only eight of the top 100 businesses in Romania, based on their turnovers in 2013.  Seven of the eight CEOs are Romanian, except for British Gemma Webb, GM of the cigarette producer BAT, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

Mariana Gheorghe leads the oil & gas company OMV Petrom, the biggest company in Romania, with 19,000 employees and a EUR 4.8 billion turnover in 2014.

Kinga Daradics leads MOL Romania, Delia Arsene is CEO with Oscar Downstream, Daniela Lulache is the general director of Nuclearelectrica; Sorana Georgia is CEO of Billa Romania, Anca Vlad is president and shareholder with Fildas Trading and Gabriela Petrea is CEO of Agrana.

Anca Vlad is the most powerful Romanian woman entrepreneur: she leads a group of companies with a EUR 270 million turnover in 2013.
