World Bank Romania country manager joins ice bucket challenge, passes it forward to friends. What other expat and local GMs joined?

Elisabetta Capannelli, World Bank’s country manager for Romania and Hungary, accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge launched by local news station Realitatea TV and poured ice water on her head. She also made a personal donation to the Romanian Association for Multiple Sclerosis, which is helping persons who suffer of MS.

Capannelli passed the challenge forward to James Hyslop, EBRD director for Romania, to Sorana Baciu, Strategy, Corporate Development & Investor Relations with OMV Petrom, and to Sandie Blanchet, UNICEF representative for Romania.

Realitatea TV launched the Ice Bucket Challenge to Romanian businessmen, and to managers of Romania’s largest companies and banks.

Carrefour Romania’s CEO Jean Baptiste Dernoncourt, was among the first top managers who accepted the challenge. His employees poured an ice bucket on him. He passed the challenge forward to Eric Mazillier, CEO of Decathlon Romania, Eric Antoine, country general manager for L’Oreal, and Andi Dumitrescu, Business Unit Manager MM Romania & Republic of Moldavia at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare.

Andi Dumitrescu also accepted the challenge and in turn challenged Mariuca Talpes, owner of software group Softwin, Codrut Pascu, managing partner of Roland Berger’s Bucharest office, and Felix Tataru, owner of GMP Advertising.

Among those who accepted the challenge there are also Mihai Marcu, president of Medlife Romania, Radu Timis, owner of meat producer CrisTim and Warga Enayati, founder of Regina Maria health clinics.

Enayati challenged Radu Florescu, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising, who passed the challenge to his brother John Florescu, to Jim Stewart, vice president of Raiffeisen Bank Romania, and to famous Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci.
