World Press Photo returns to Romania with May and June exhibition

The new National Library headquarters will host the World Press Photo exhibition, which will return to Romania after a 17 year absence. The exhibition will take place between May 17 and June 10 and is organized by the Cultural Foundation EIDOS, founded by Romanian photographer Cristian Movila.

Over 170 internationally awarded photographs will be exhibited in Bucharest. The event is part of an international tour to 45 countries.

Entry for the exhibition in Bucharest costs RON 7 and can be paid on the door.

World Press Photo sets standards in photo journalism internationally. Initiated by the World Press Photo foundation in the Netherlands in 1955, the competition attracted 5,247 participants from 124 countries, who submitted over 100,000 photos.
