Romanians set new world record crossing Black Sea by rowboat
Atlantic4, a team made of five Romanians, including famous marathon runner Andrei Rosu, has managed to cross the Black Sea in a rowboat, setting a new world record for speed.
They arrived at Batumi, Georgia, on June 27, after an 11-day trip, reports Sunt-in-forma.ro. They left from Marina Limanu Port in Romania, and traveled 1,200 km.
Andrei Rosu, Vasile Osean, Ionut Olteanu, Marius Alexe, and Alexandru Dumbrava are the five Romanians who managed to cross the Black Sea and set a new world record. The Romanian team applied to Guinness World Records to break the world record in crossing the Black Sea. The previous record was 29 days.
Atlantic4 is the first Romanian team to participate in Atlantic Challenge, the world’s toughest row. Crossing the Black Sea in a rowboat represented an important step in the training for the big challenge – crossing the Atlantic Ocean.
