Wreck of two millennia-old ship found in Romania's Black Sea waters
Two divers recently found in the old port of Tomis in Romania, the wreck of a wooden ship that is believed to be 2,000 years old. According to the divers, the ship most likely sunk because of a storm, reports local Digi24.
The 20-meter long ship is believed to have been built in the Mediterranean, in Sicily or the area of the Santorini volcano.
According to Digi24, the specialists say chances are objects of great archaeological value are onboard. However, the ship can’t be searched without the Ministry of Culture’s approval.
