Meteorologists in Romania have recently issued a yellow code alert for torrential rain, lightning, storms and strong cooling, valid for the whole country between Friday at noon and Saturday at 18:00 hours, according to the country's National Meteorology Administration (ANM).

The quantity of water will exceed 25 liters per sqm locally, and in some areas, even 70 liters per sqm.

In the first part of this period, the north-west, north and central regions will be the most affected, then those in the eastern half.  The weather will be cold throughout the country on Saturday, according to the ANM.
