Yet another sleepless May night for culture lovers in Bucharest: European Literature Night

The third edition of the European Literature Night will take place in several different locations in Bucharest on May 28.

The event will be hosted by six places in Romania’s capital, namely Aiurart, Foisorul de Foc, Godot la Scoala, Casa Matasari, Modelier and the National University of Theatre and Film UNATC, according to the Romanian Cultural Institute ICR.

Book lovers are invited to attend lectures and performances meant to highlight texts, translated into Romanian, of some important European authors, such as Daniel Glattauer - Austria, Karel Čapek - the Czech Republic, Aléa Torik - Germany, Odysseas Elytis and Yorgos Seferis - Greece, Italo Calvino - Italy, Hilary Mantel, Sarah Dunant, Philippa Gregory and William Shakespeare - UK, Michał Walczak - Poland, Rui Zink - Portugal, Ioana Pârvulescu and Simona Sora - Romania, Ramón Gómez de la Serna - Spain, Orhan Pamuk - Turkey, Attila Mizser and Béla Hamvas - Hungary and Alain Berenboom - Wallonia-Brussels.

The lectors will be Romanian actors Radu Iacoban, Ana Ularu, Ilinca Manolache, Mihaela Popa, Gabriel Spahiu, Gabriela Ioniță, Adrian Ciobanu, Florin Busuioc and George-Albert Costea, journalist Liviu Mihaiu, and other writers or students.

The readings and performances will take place in the six locations in parallel, once every 45 minutes, between 19,00 and 23,30. The entrance is free.
