Young Romanians get nine medals at European Youth Olympic Summer Festival in Utrecht
Romania's team won nine medals so far at the European Youth Olympic Summer Festival in Utrecht. Maria Ifteni got the gold for her 3,000 meters race, while Carla Sescu was awarded the silver medal in the discus throwing competition.
Three more silver medals went to Ionuț Manea for the high jump, Maria Theodora Bălăşoiu and Ştefania Adelina Dobre in the judo competition.
Zeno Moraru got the bronze for the 400 meters race. On Thursday, July 18, Andrei Toader also received the bronze medal for discus throwing. Camelia Ioniţă in judo and the female gymnastics team Andreea Maria Iridon, Laura Jurcă, Silvia Andreea Zarzu (in picture, right) – also got the bronze.
The European Youth Olympic Summer Festival took place in Utrecht between July 14 and 19.
