10 percent of Romanians want to buy a car next year while 13 percent, a house, study finds
Only 10 percent of Romanians consider buying a car in the next 12 months, and only 13 percent of Romanians are planning to buy a house in the same period of time, according to a survey of ISRA Center Marketing Research.
On the other hand, 6 percent of Romanians who own a car intend to change it next year, and 4 percent want to buy another one, given that half of urban residents own a personal car. Most cars are owned by people in the age group 35-49 years (61 percent).
The survey shows that 7 in 10 Romanians said that they have a personal house, but the figures change considerably depending on the age factor, according to the ISRA Center statement.
Thus, the percentage of home owners increases with age. While only 40 percent of young Romanians (20-34 years) have their own house, Romanians in the age group 50-65 years old represent the majority of homeowners, almost 90 percent.
The survey's results show that 4 of 10 Romanians have both a car and a home, while approximately 20 percent have none of these goods. Meanwhile, half of Romanians aged between 35 and 49 years and those with incomes of more than EUR 450 a month are owners of a house and a car.
