Over 10,400 new vehicles registered in Romania in March
The number of new motor vehicles registered in Romania increased by 2.2% in March over the same period in 2016, reaching 10,435 units, according to data from the Directorate for Driving Licenses and Vehicle Registration (DRPCIV).
The passenger car registrations went up by 5.2% to over 6,900 units, compared to about 6,570 cars registered in March last year.
Dacia saw over 1,550 registrations, down 19.7% year-on-year, followed by Ford with over 1,000 units, almost double compared to last year, and Volkswagen with 584 registrations, up 16%.
The number of used cars registered in March reached over 50,000, double compared to the same month of 2016. The used car registrations exploded in February, after the environment tax for the registration of old cars was removed.
Romania’s national fleet went up by 6.2% in 2016 compared to the previous year, exceeding seven million vehicles. More than 1.25 million units were registered in Bucharest.
