Over 16,300 people find jobs in Romania in January
Over 16,300 people found jobs via the National Agency for Employment (ANOFM) in January following the implementation of Romania’s National Program for Employment.
Of the total number, some 4,900 were over 45 years old whereas some 4,500 were aged 35-45. About 4,200 were between 25 and 35, and 2,700 were younger than 25.
Most people who found jobs in January were men, namely 8,971. Also, most of them lived in cities (9,486) whereas over 6,800 came from villages.
Most people who found a vacant job in Romania had high school diplomas (over 5,400), followed by vocational education (3,817), secondary studies (3,351), and university degree (2,221). Timis county ranked first for new work contracts, with 1,731 employees, followed by Bucharest (1,543), and Hunedoara (916).
An article published last week by the Economica.net platform showed that most vacant jobs in Romania, managed by the local employment agencies, are for unskilled workers in garment factories.
