75% of Romania’s properties aren’t included in the cadaster system
Only 22.5% of Romania’s properties, including land and buildings, are included in the national cadaster system. This represents about nine million properties out of a total of 40 million.
It means that about 75% of the total properties in Romania are not registered in the national cadaster and land registry plan, reports local Ziarul Financiar. This also means these properties can’t be sold or transferred.
The figures are part of a report drafted by the Economy Ministry for implementing a project to faster develop the national cadaster and land registry plan. The plan was launched last year and supported by the Regional Development Ministry.
