Pharmaceutical company A&D Pharma Holdings grew its first quarter net unaudited sales by 33 percent on the same period of last year, reaching EUR 150 million, the company has announced. The company's sales in Romanian currency grew by 28 percent during this period. The company's sales on the pharmaceutical distribution segment reached EUR 120.8 million in the first three months of the year, up on EUR 77.3 million in Q1 last year. Its marketing and sales division sales dropped from EUR 13.6 million to EUR 10.9 million in Q1 this year, reflecting the change in the business model, according to the company. Sensiblu, the group's retail division, saw its sales increasing by 32 percent, up to EUR 57.6 million. „The regional expansion plans brought us many advantages and the marketing & sales business line continues to create opportunities for the A&D Phrama group. [...] We continue to be cautious about the perspectives of the Romanian market in 2010, especially due to operations challenges and to those connected to the legislative environment in the pharma industry,” said Robert Popescu, CEO of A&D Pharma (in picture).
Sensiblu runs 227 pharmacies across Romania, making it the largest chain of pharmacies in the country.
