Agricover gives EUR 142 mn loans for Romanian farmers
Romanian agriculture equipment and financing provider Agricover granted some EUR 142 million in loans for 1,300 farmers via its lending arm Agricover Credit in 2013.
The company plans to focus on farmers from the region of Transylvania in Central Romania, where it hopes to grant loans worth some EUR 33.3 million by 2017.
“Farmers from Transylvania are business-like and firm people, careful about an efficient use of resources. They've known how to manage their household for years, and we provide them with an integrated platform for solutions to support them and to increase their farms' profitability,” said Robert Rekkers, general manager of Agricover Credit.
The company aims to boost its activity in Transylvania by a third in the next two years, and will focus on technological solutions for special crops and financing solutions.
