Agriculture subsidy payments start in October across Romania
Romanian farmers will receive EUR 600 million starting October 16, as down payments for agriculture subsidies, the Agriculture Minister Daniel Constantin has said, quoted by Mediafax.
Within two weeks from the start date, farmers should receive the money. This year, farmers will receive EUR 139 in subsidies per hectare in EU funding, and EUR 21 per hectare from the state budget.
The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture APIA received about 1 million payment requests this year, for 9.9 million hectares of agricultural land. Most requests came from Timis county – 542,000 hectares, Constanta – 489,000 hectares, Dolj – 444,000 hectares.
