Air Malta will start operating weekly direct flights to Bucharest as of May 17, 2018. So far, the airline has only operated charter flights to the Romanian capital.

“We have been operating charter services to Bucharest for years together with our travel partners and we believe that the market is now mature enough for scheduled services,” said Paul Sies, Air Malta's Chief Commercial Officer, according to The Malta Independent.

The direct flights between Malta and Bucharest will be operated on Thursdays, and the tickets are already on sale. Go-light hand luggage one-way fares start from EUR 39.
