Alexandra Gatej elected president of AmCham Romania, new board in place
The American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AmCham Romania) members have elected a new board of directors, which is now headed by Alexandra Gatej of Maldon & Wat. Gatej, who has been a presidential adviser and head of Unilever Balkans in the past, will replace Sorin Mindrutescu, CEO of Oracle Romania. Gatej gave up her position with the presidential administration last year and decided to return to the private sector. She will head AmCham until March 2012.
The new board of directors includes vice-presidents Carmen Neagu (General Electric) and Ionut Simon (PwC), Treasurer Peter Weiss (Bancpost) and seven other board members: Wolfgang Schoiswohl of Banca Comerciala Romana, Tibor Pandi of Citibank, Pascal Prigent of GlaxoSmithKline, Radu Enache of Hewlett-Packard, Bogdan Balaci of IBM Romania, Ronald Binkofski of Microsoft and Anda Todor of Salans.
