Almost 100 km of bike lanes for EUR 10 mln in Bucharest
The Environment Ministry will allocate EUR 10 million for the implementation of cycling infrastructure in the central area of Bucharest. This project was approved last week by the Bucharest City Council, reports local Capital.
According to a statement of the ministry, this project includes the construction of 97 km of bike lanes on 60 streets in Romania’s capital, but also points out that it will ensure the connection between the bicycles and the system of public transportation.
The project aims to reduce traffic in Bucharest and improve air quality.
