Almost half of urban Romanians went to a beauty salon in the last year

Almost half of the Romanians living in urban areas went to a beauty salon in the last year, where they spent about RON 130 (EUR 30) per month, according to an iSense Solutions study.

Women continue to be the main clients of beauty salons. Some 70% of women say thet have resorted to such services in the past 12 months, compared to just 25% of men.

On average, most of the people who go to the salon, namely 68%, do this once a month or more often. A total of 85% of respondents go to beauty salons to get a haircut, 48% for eyebrow shaping, 40% - styling, and 34% - manicure. On the other hand, only 26% go for styling services for special occasions, 22% for pedicure, and 12% for makeup.

“Romanians are paying more attention to the way they look and feel, mainly due to the diversity and accessibility on this market,” said Andrei Canda, partner iSense Solutions.

More than 60% of those who live in the Bucharest-Ilfov region went to a beauty salon in the past 12 months, followed by the South-East region, which includes Braila, Buzau, Constanta, Galati, Tulcea, and Vrancea counties.

 

iSense Solutions conducted the study online on 893 respondents. The study is representative for the urban Romanians aged over 18.
