Alpha Bank widens losses 12 times in Romania
Lender Alpha Bank posted a loss of EUR 58.5 million last year in Romania, almost 12 times higher than in 2013.
Non-performing loans (NPL) ratio reached 15.3% at the end of last year, from 14.4% at the end of 2013.
The balance of loans decreased by 0.2% compared to the previous year, to EUR 2.92 billion.
Alpha Bank had a 5.9% market share of the credit market in Romania at the end of 2014.
Its mortgage credits amounted to EUR 883 million at the end of December; consumer credits reached EUR 289 million and corporate loans amounted to EUR 1.75 billion.
Its deposit portfolio increased by 19.3%, to EUR 1.7 billion.
