AmCham asks for longer debate on public procurement law in Romania
The consultation period for the public procurement legislation should be at least 30 days compared to the ten-day period announced by the Ministry of Finance and the Public Procurement Agency, according to the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham).
The Romanian authorities published the draft law on public procurement last week and announced a period of ten days for public consultation, which expires on August 1.
AmCham argued that such a complex and important topic required a consultation period of at least 30 days. The public acquisition reform could benefit from the participation of interested partners from the business environment, according to AmCham, an organization that represents the interests of over 400 American, international and local companies.
