The American band Elevation will bring jazz music to ArCuB (14, Batiste St.) in Bucharest on November 13, from 20:00 hours. The band represents the new jazz music genre and is made of Romanian Lucian Ban at piano, Abraham Burton at sax, Brad Jones at bass, and Derek Phillips at drums.

Pianist and composer Lucian Ban is from Transilvanya, Romania. He now lives in New York. The Hans Koller Foundation nominated him twice in 2005 and 2006 for “Best European Jazz Musician”. He has recorded 6 albums as a leader for labels in US and Europe. Find more about the Romanian pianist here.

Abraham Burton has played in his career so far with legends like Jackie McLean, Art Taylor, Jimmie Smith, and Winton Marsalis. Read more about him here.

Brad Jones had in his career several musical collaborations with Elvin Jones, Ornete Coleman, Elvis Costello and Marc Ribot. Jones is considered one of the greatest jazz bass players of the moment. Find more about him here.

Derek Phillips, a student of legendary drummer Tony Williams (Miles Davis) and Horace Arnold (Chick Corea), is considered one the great contemporary drummers of today’s jazz. Read more about him here.
