American poet comes to Romania to teach students slam poetry
American poet Matt Mason is in Romania this October to teach high schools students in Craiova, Drobeta Turnu Severin, and Bucharest a modern form of public poetry reading named slam poetry, according to a statement of the US Embassy in Bucharest.
Mason won the Pushcart Prize in 2013 and was close to winning the Poet of the State of Nebraska distinction. He is the executive director of the Nebraska Writers Collective.
He has published poems in more than 200 magazines. His latest volume of poems, The Baby That Ate Cincinnati, came out in 2013.
