American Stratum Energy to invest USD 150 mln in Romania
American company Stratum Energy will become the third largest gas producer in Romania, after investments of USD 150 million in the country, according to Romanian Minister for Energy Răzvan Nicolescu, quoted by Agerpres.
The minister is part of Romanian Prime Minister’s delegation visiting the US, which late last week met American oil companies’ representatives. Stratum Energy aims to be the third largest gas company in Romania, after state-owned Romgaz and OMV Petrom, after it recently discovered conventional gas in Moinesti, in Bacau county.
American investments will be crucial in becoming energy independent by 2020, the minister added.
