Real estate developer Anchor Group might resume work this year to complete the Metropol Center office building in Bucharest, on some 35,000 sqm. Its construction was halted in 2009 because of the financial crisis.

“We might start construction in autumn and we are currently in the process of selecting the general contractor. We can give more details and figures about the project in a week,” said Yurdaer Kahraman, CEO Commercial Real Estate Properties Fiba Holding, cited by local Mediafax.

The office building is located near Plaza Romania commercial center, also owned by Anchor Group. The real estate developer owns another office building in the same area, Anchor Plaza, the Bucuresti Mall and Plaza Romania shopping centers as well as the Incity Residence apartment complex.
