Apartment prices, up 8% in Romania in the last 12 months
The average asking price for apartments in Romania went up by 0.2% in November compared to October, to EUR 1,044 per sqm.
Compared to the same month of 2015, the asking price per sqm is 8.3% higher at a national level, according to Imobiliare.ro, one of the biggest local real estate portals.
The values are based on the apartment sale ads placed on the platform, not on actual transaction prices, but are still a good indicator of the market trends.
In Bucharest, the asking prices declined by 1.1% in November compared to October, to EUR 1,129 per sqm but were 3.1% higher compared to one year ago. Meanwhile, in Cluj-Napoca, the asking prices went up by 1.7% in November compared to the previous month and were 10.4% higher compared to November 2015, at an average of EUR 1,243 per sqm. This makes Cluj-Napoca the most expensive market for apartments in Romania.
In Timisoara, the prices were up 0.7% month-on-month and 10.6% year-on-year, at EUR 1,036 per sqm.
