The first weekend of August will be a very hot one in Romania, according to meteorologists.

From August 5 to August 7, the weather will get extremely hot in southern and southeastern Romania, the National Administration of Meteorology (ANM) announced. Temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius are forecasted for Oltenia, Muntenia, southern Moldova and Dobrogea regions, while the thermal discomfort will be mainly felt in lowland areas.

The temperature-humidity index will reach and possibly slightly exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.

According to an ANM forecast, the weather will remain sunny and hot at the Romanian seaside at least until August 14.
