Average Romanian produces 10 tons of waste a year
Each Romanian produces 10 tons of waste per year – or 27 kg per day- more than double the European average. The figures also include industrial waste, reports local Digi24.
Besides the fact that the authorities have no efficient program for the selection of such wastes, Romanians also waste a lot, as 25% of the food they buy ends up in the garbage.
Restaurants also waste a lot. For example, around nine tons of garbage go out every summer from the kitchen of a hotel located at the seaside.
