The net nominal average wage was some EUR 383 in October this year in Romania, up by EUR 1.57 (0.4%) from the previous month and up by 5.6% over the same month last year, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

The gross nominal average earning in October was EUR 530, up by 0.4% from previous month.

The highest net nominal average earnings were registered in the extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas (EUR 1,013), with the lowest, in hotels and restaurants (EUR 224).

In October 2014, in most economic sectors, the net average earning slightly increased compared to September 2014 thanks to occasional bonuses, including bonuses for outstanding achievements, to amounts from net profit and other funds, and production target achievement or higher cashing.
