Bad loans ratio drops to 11.65% in Romania

The non-performing loans ratio in the Romanian banking sector reached 11.65% in November 2015, down by 0.37 percentage points compared to the level recorded in the previous month.

At the end of 2014, the NPL ratio was 13.94%.

The number of individuals who had debts older than 30 days dropped to some 704,250 people at the end of 2015. Compared to December 2014, the number of debtors decreased by 0.72%.

The overdue debts totaled RON 11.3 billion (EUR 2.5 billion). Of the total, over RON 4.3 billion (EUR 958 million) were in national currency lei, some RON 4.84 billion (over EUR 1 billion) were in euro, and RON 2.13 billion (EUR 474 million) in other currencies.

The overdue debts older than 90 days amounted to some EUR 1.7 billion.
