Banca Comerciala Carpatica reports EUR 4.4 mln loss in first half

Romanian Banca Comerciala Carpatica (BCC) posted a loss of EUR 4.4 million (RON 18.67 million) in the first half of 2011, 82.4 percent lower than the value reported for the same period in 2010, due to lower provisioning costs by 81.88 percent, according to the bank. Assets at the end of the first half of 2011 amounted to EUR 600 million, representing a decrease of 8.13 percent over the same period of 2010.

The bank’s immediate liquidity at the end of June was 49.41 percent, compared to 45.12 percent reported in June, 2010. The liquidity indicator was 2.14, compared with 1, the minimum value imposed by the Romanian Central Bank's regulations, while the bank's solvency stood at a level of 11.91 percent, over the minimum imposed by the central bank.

At the end of June BCC totaled a number of 57 branches and 113 operating agencies.
