Barefoot diva returns to Romania for October concerts after heart surgery
Cesaria Evora, who went through heart surgery in May this year, when she canceled the concert in Bucharest, will continue her tour and perform in Romania in October. Her first concert will be held in Brasov on October 15 and the second in Bucharest on October 18. The concert in Brasov will be held at Sala Sporturilor, while the one in Bucharest, at Sala Palatului. Ticket prices vary between RON 70 and RON 210 and can be bought from eventim.ro, myticket.ro, blt.ro, bilete.ro, from the concert locations, in Humanitas and Carturesti bookshops and in Diverta, Germanos, Vodafone and Off the Record shops. The tickets purchased for the May event will be valid and will be exchanged with new ones in the locations where they were bought or the day of the concert at Sala Palatului. Cesaria Evora will promote her latest album, Nha Sentimento, launched in 2009. Evora canceled all her concerts in spring and summer after suffering an open heart surgery in May, in Paris. Cesaria Evora was also named the 'barefoot diva' as she uses to go on stage barefoot. The 68-year old artist is from Cape Verde and became famous when she was 47. She is known for singing 'morna', which is a type of blues specific to the Cape Verde islands. Her Bucharest concert is organized by Trilogy Media and the Bucharest City hall.
