Belgian developer buys former German embassy in Bucharest
Belgian real estate developer Atenor Group bought the Cesianu House (Casa Cesianu) in Bucharest, which used to host the German embassy, as well as the nearby land to build a new office building, reports local Economica.net.
It is the second project of this kind, after the rehabilitation of the Oromolu villa and the construction of the Aviatorilor 8 office building by the South-African group NEPI.
Atenor bought two plots of land with a total area of 5,000 sqm, located near the Calea Victoriei boulevard. The land includes the historical building Casa Cesianu.
The historical building will be refurbished and integrated into the new office project, which will have a surface of 12,500 sqm. The new office building will be called Dacia 1.
Atenor completed the third building of the Hermes Business Campus project, located in the Pipera area, at the end of last year. Genpact has leased eight floors for its new headquarters there. The whole project has an area of 73,180 sqm.
