Berlinale winner Child's Pose becomes most viewed Romanian film of the decade
The Romanian feature – length award winning movie Child's Pose/Pozitia copilului recently became the most viewed Romanian film in the last 11 years and got the highest box office gains in the last 20 years in Romania. The film, which won the Berlinale grand prix earlier this year, has had over 100,000 viewers, exceeding Filantropica – which had 91,000 viewers, and 4 months, 3 weeks, two days, with 70,000 viewers. Its box office gains topped RON 1.2 million – or some EUR 270,000.
The film recently premiered in German and Austrian cinemas, and in June it will reach the cinema screens in Italy and Switzerland. Child's Pose premiered on Romanian screens on March 8
In Romania, the film will also be screening during the Transilvania International Film Festival TIFF, which takes place this week in Cluj – Napoca.
Child's Pose stars veteran Romanian actress Luminița Gheorghiu (in picture) as an overbearing and overprotective mother.
