Black Friday starts in Romania: eMAG sells 200,000 products in just 2 hours
A new edition of Black Friday sales event started today (November 21) in Romania and the first sales figures released by retailers show that the interest for the campaign has been very high.
Romanian online retailer eMag said it sold 1,200 fuel vouchers, 29 cars and 200,000 products in just 2 hours, according to a statement of the company. The vouchers’ value amounts to RON 240,000 (EUR 54,000) and the first ordered cars were Ford Kuga, Fiat 500 and Ford Focus.
In the first 4 minutes after that start, the retailer sold 100 products per second, a total of 50,000 products being sold in just 30 minutes.
In the first hour, eMag sold 20% of its stock for Black Friday. In the first five minutes, it sold the entire stock for PS4, iPhone 5S, Acer laptop (which had a price of RON 499 – EUR 112), Toshiba 80cm HD TV (RON 499 – EUR 112) and iPad Mini (RON 699 – EUR 157). The mobile phones, laptops, children products and the perfumes were the best-selling products.
eMAG estimates total sales of about EUR 34 million in the Black Friday sales event.
