Black Sea freezes in Romania's Constanta harbor The Black Sea has frozen for up to 400 meters from the shore in Constanta harbor, Romania, which is currently under a Code Yellow for blizzards and Code Orange for low temperatures. The layer of ice has around 40 cm. This happens every couple of years in Romania, when temperatures stay below minus 10 °C for several days in a row.

Romania has been placed under a Code Yellow for snow, blizzards and ice until Sunday, February 5. It started to snow on Thursday morning in the South of the country, while meteorologists expect conditions to worsen across Romania over the coming days. In excess of 20 cm is expected in hilly and mountainous areas.
