Blind Romanian climber who conquered Mount Kilimanjaro also tries to climb Mont Blanc
Alex Benchea, the first blind climber from Romania to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro, also wants to climb Mont Blanc, Stiri.tvr.ro reported. For this expedition, he teamed up with the captain of the national paraclimbing team, Razvan Nedu, who is also visually impaired.
Razvan Nedu has just 1% of his vision. He has been climbing for more than three years and has won medals at national and international competitions.
Alex Benchea is blind and has already conquered Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. After Mont Blanc, he also wants to climb Mount Elbrus.
In this expedition, Alex and Razvan are accompanied by a technical team from Romania led by the coach of the National Paraclimbing Team, climber Claudiu Miu. The international guide Cosmin Andron is waiting for them at Chamonix, together with two other professional guides and climbers.
