BoardingPass: Wizz Air cancels a dozen winter routes from Romania

30 May 2023

A dozen flights operated by Hungarian carrier Wizz Air from Bucharest to several cities around Europe are being discontinued for the next winter season. According to BoardingPass, the low-cost airline canceled the flights a few days ago.

Quoting data from the booking system data, BoardingPass said Wizz Air will no longer fly from the end of October 2023 from Bucharest to the airports of Aarhus (Denmark), Alghero (Italy), Malmo (Sweden), and Santander (Spain).

The Hungarian airline is also discontinuing flights between Iasi and the airports of Catania and Treviso (Italy) from the end of October 2023, as well as one of the routes operated from Timisoara to the airport in Treviso (Italy).

Also from the end of October, Wizz Air will cease flying from Cluj to Catania (Italy), Larnaca (Cyprus), Liverpool (United Kingdom), Luqa (Malta), and Naples (Italy).

Additionally, the low-cost airline's flights between Craiova and Rome are currently operated at Ciampino Airport in Rome (Italy), but starting from November 2023, they will be operated from Fiumicino Airport.

Wizz Air has permanently canceled several routes to and from airports in Romania in recent months, but it is now unclear whether these routes will be resumed in the summer of 2024 or not.
