British investments sum up EUR 1.9 bln in nine months, down on last year

British companies invested a total of EUR 1.9 billion in Romania in the first nine months of the year, a drop of 36 percent on the same period of last year, according to data from the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce. British companies invested EUR 2.6 million in Romania in the first nine months last year.

British investors eye infrastructure, especially water systems, environment protection, sea ports, train stations, financial services, energy – especially renewable energy, which make most of their projects in Romania.

The country is UK's 41st trade partner based on seven – month data from 2010, up from the 58th position last year.  The total trade volume between the UK and EU countries was of 103 billion pounds in the first seven months of this year.
