British payment processor ups revenues by 23% in Romania

British payment processor PayPoint increased its revenues in Romania by 23.1% during the period April-September this year compared to the same period last year, to GBP 19.15 million (EUR 22.6 million).

In the six months, the number of bill payments through PayPoint’s local network rose by 11.7% year-on-year to 32.6 million transactions, according to the company’s report.

In the period April-September 2015, PayPoint recorded revenues of GBP 15.56 million and processed some 29.1 million payments in Romania.

The company’s market share went up from 21.3% to 23.1%. The net revenues, which exclude recharging prepaid mobile services, increased by 19.8% year-on-year on the bills segment and by 66.1% on the retail segment. The revenues from recharging prepaid mobile cards grew by 24.6%, according to the company’s report.

The British group reached 10,662 terminals in Romania at the end of September, up 521 units compared to the end of March.
