Brussels photo exhibition features recent Romanian protests

31 January 2018

A photo exhibition opened in Brussels, at the European Parliament, featuring images of the protests that erupted in Romania in February 2017. It is meant to inform the European citizens of the fight of the Romanians against corruption.

The exhibition, titled Romanians take the streets: We want justice, not corruption, was organized by two MEPs: Romanian Monica Macovei, a member of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group, and German Sven Giegold, a member of the Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance.

It gathers photos made by artists such as Adrian Câtu, Andreea Retinschi, Mihuț Savu, Dan Mihai Bălănescu, and others. Among them is the photo of Bucharest’s Victoriei Square filled with people holding their light phones.

The exhibition opened on January 30 and will remain open until February 1.
