Bucharest airport employees get 23% wage increase
The Bucharest Airports Company’s employees will get a 23% average salary increase this year, according to the company’s budget.
The average salary per employee will reach about EUR 2,067, up from EUR 1,686 in 2015. The company’s employees are among the best-paid in Romania.
The Bucharest Airports Company manages the Henri Coanda International Airport near Bucharest.
Local investment fund Fondul Proprietatea, which has a stake of 20% in the firm, has voted against the budget project that includes the salary increase. According to the fund, the wage hike hasn’t been correlated with actual performance targets.
The company will have 1,516 employees this year, according to the budget, compared to 1,408 in 2015. All these changes will lead to a 56% drop in the company’s gross profit from EUR 49.2 million last year to EUR 28 million this year, according to Fondul Proprietatea.
