Annual anti-mosquito treatment sessions start in Bucharest parks
Local authorities in Bucharest, via the Center for Plant Protection, have started applying treatments to combat mosquitoes in the city's large parks.
A first stage in the fight against mosquitoes began on Monday, July 11, and will end on July 27. During this period, authorities will apply the basic treatment once every three days.
Then, between August 10 and September 29, Bucharest authorities will conduct three successive treatments to combat mosquitoes, once every two weeks.
The substances used to combat mosquitoes have low toxicity to humans and animals, and are usually applied between 9 PM and 1 AM.
The Bucharest City Hall had already received complaints against mosquitoes in Bucharest's green areas. The local authorities apply anti-mosquito treatments every year, and the City Hall organizes yearly tenders to buy such services.
