Bucharest is attractive for IT specialists from abroad because of the high salaries combined with low cost of living and high-speed internet, according to an article published by the technology magazine ZDNet, owned by the US concern CBS Interactive.

ZDNet published a list with ten reasons why IT experts should take Bucharest into consideration.

“A salary of EUR 2,000 per month in Bucharest is the equivalent of EUR 6,000 in London, taking into account rent in both cities,” reads the article, making the case for Bucharest’s accessible lifestyle.

The city hosts companies whose parent groups were included in the Fortune 500 ranking. It has ”warp-speed internet and big cybersecurity companies." People can start a startup with limited resources in Bucharest and have access to several co-working spaces.

The city has cheap beer, many cafes and bars. It is also a safe city, according to the ZDNet list. The authors also mention the anti-corruption fight in Romania.
