Bucharest celebrated this week-end: Gabroveni Inn opening, lots of concerts, Cismigiu fair
A series of events in the Romanian capital will mark the 555th anniversary of the city, starting Thursday, September 18, and ending on Sunday, September 21.
The Gabroveni Inn opening will be one of the main events during this period. The historic monument, which was revamped with EU and local money, aims to become Bucharest’s new cultural core. Located in the Old Town, the inn will be officially open on Saturday and Sunday, between 10:00 and 20:00 every day. The official opening ceremony will however take place today – Thursday, September 18.
The Bucharest Fair will take place over the weekend in the Cismigiu park, including a fair with local products. A period costumes parade will take place in the park on Saturday at 15:00, followed by a magic show.
In the Old Town, an open – air dance floor will be organized at the crossroad between Lipscani and Eugen Carada Streets. Meanwhile, Romanian music from its golden age will be heard in Constitutiei Square on Saturday, in a show called the rEvolution of Romanian music .
The same day but later during the night, at 23:00, a multimedia show will be screened on a huge screen in front of the People’s Palace, followed by a DJ Open Air Party.
On Friday, the Universitate Square will host an alternative music show with bands such as The Speakers", "The Amsterdams", "Les Elephants Bizarres", "Luna Amară", "Omul cu Șobolani" and "Alternosfera.
