Bucharest City Hall wants to modernize two parks in Romania’s capital with EUR 4 mln

The Bucharest Municipality wants to revamp two parks in Romania’s capital, namely Carol and Cismigiu with take EUR 4 million, through projects financed with grants from the Norwegian Government, according to two draft decisions.

The Municipality’s participation in the two projects is on the General Council’s agenda for the meeting scheduled for February 27.

The first project, namely “Preservation and revitalization of cultural and natural heritage - Cismigiu Park”, aims to preserve natural and cultural heritage in this park, “by reactivating this recreational public space and the development of the local community by increasing the touristic attractiveness, highlighting the landscape features, the architecture and historic monuments in its perimeters,” according to the draft decision.

The total value of the project is EUR 2 million, financed from non-reimbursable funds.

The other project to also be financed with grants from the Norwegian Government is the “Preservation and revitalization of the cultural and natural heritage in Carol Park”, its value also amounting to EUR 2 million, shows the decision.

The feasibility studies for these projects will be paid from the local budget and deadline for submission of proposals is April 7, 2014.
