Bucharest could record economic growth of 3.8% in 2016

Romania’s capital Bucharest could record an economic growth of 3.8% this year and of 4.3% in the next two years, according to the National Prognosis Commission (CNP).

The GDP per inhabitant could grow to EUR 22,215 this year, EUR 23,895 next year and EUR 25,675 in 2018.

The number of employees could grow by 2.3% in Bucharest in 2016, and by 2.4% in 2017. The net average monthly salary is estimated at EUR 645 in 2016, up 9% compared to the previous year.

Bucharest is Romania’s richest region and its GDP per capita is over the EU average.

Romania’s GDP is expected to increase by 4.2% this year, according to the prognosis company. The southern regions are expected to grow faster, at rates of over 4.4%.
