Bucharest hotels to reduce tariffs during December weekends
Hotels in Bucharest will cut tariffs by over 50% for December weekends, while negotiating lower rates with museums and prepare bar crawls in the capital’s Old Town in an attempt to turn Bucharest into a Christmas destination.
“We want to promote Bucharest as a Christmas destination and we try to first attract tourists from the country, and then tourists from abroad. The first thing we do is to reduce tariffs by 50% on weekends in December,” said Dragos Raducan, vice-president of the Romanian Tourism Employers Federation FPTR, cited by local Mediafax.
During December weekends, a package for a 2-night stay with breakfast will cost RON 159 (some EUR 36) at 2-star hotels and RON 259 (around EUR 58) at 4-star hotels. One of the main attractions in December will be the Christmas fair to be organized at Romexpo.
